Make something instead.
A decade of working as a sourdough baker at Davis Street Espresso and Candor Bread in Oak Cliff has taught me much about the meaning of food for ourselves and our neighborhoods — not just in eating it, but in making it. After having (and feeding) two kids, I have spent less time baking for the public and more time cooking for my family.
In the throes of family and food, I have noticed the dilemma we often find ourselves in: whether to make a meal or have it made for you. Making good food often starts with learning traditional skills. Here, I discovered a desire to share with you what I have been taught. Instedt School and Kitchen exists to teach you how to make something instead of simply buying it. Come learn to cook and enjoy the things you make.
